Pricing, Payments & Progression

We keep things simple, clear, and family-friendly.

Classes run during school term time only, approximately 39 weeks per year.

Monthly memberships spread the cost evenly across 12 months to keep payments manageable and consistent throughout the year. Payments therefore remain the same during school holidays.

School holiday breaks are important for rest, recovery, family time, and helping students return focused and motivated for the next term.

Occasionally, a small number of sessions may also be affected by village hall bookings, committee meetings, or hall closures.

Training, Attendance & Gradings

At R&R Martial Arts, gradings are based on consistency, effort, confidence, discipline, and technical ability — not simply time passed.

Martial arts skills are built through regular practice and repetition.

Students who attend consistently are generally more confident in their syllabus, combinations, fitness, discipline, and gradings.

Students who regularly miss sessions may require additional time before being invited to grade to ensure they are fully prepared and confident at their current level.

Our priority is helping students genuinely earn and feel proud of their progress while maintaining strong standards and safe progression for all students.

Membership payments remain the same throughout the year, including school holidays, as the yearly training cost is spread evenly across 12 months.

Missed sessions are non-refundable and cannot be carried over.

Memberships are based on reserving a regular training place and supporting consistent progression throughout the year.

Cancelling Membership

One full calendar month’s notice is required to cancel a monthly membership.

This helps us manage class spaces, registers, and student progression correctly.

Grading Fees

Gradings: £25 each (must be paid 10 days before grading to allow time for belts and certificates to be ordered. Late payments may result in belts and certificates not arriving in time.)

This includes:

  • Physical belt

  • Official Cobra CMMA certification

  • Recording of progression and achievement

There are no fixed grading deadlines.

Progression is based on consistency, effort, attitude and ability — not simply time spent training.

Additional Training Support

Every student progresses at their own pace, and some students may require additional support before being ready to grade.

If a student has missed classes or needs extra help with specific techniques, private catch-up lessons are available to help prepare them for progression.

Private tuition is optional and charged separately at:

  • £45 for a 1-hour private session

These sessions provide focused one-to-one support to help students build confidence, improve technique and prepare for grading in a supportive environment.
